Individual, Marriage, and Family Counseling

Before your first visit

Your first visit

You and your therapist will get to know each other in a safe and private space. Expect that your first appointment will last 45-60 minutes. You’ll talk about your goals and concerns.

Follow-up Visits

See your therapist for confidential counseling on a schedule that works for you. Your follow-up appointments will last an hour.

Meet Our Therapists

Bev Pospisil, LMFT

Bev Pospisil serves as a therapist at House of Hope, leading classes and providing counseling to individuals, couples, and families.

Bev says serving as a therapist at House of Hope is a joy. “I’m honored to work with individuals, couples, and families as they experience God’s healing and restoration. I feel privileged to watch God move in people’s lives, and I am in awe of His love and grace for each of us.”

She earned her master’s degree in marriage and family therapy from Capella University and is licensed to practice in Iowa. Bev enjoys spending time with her blended family. She has a daughter, adult stepchildren, grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.

Diana Jackson, LMHC, CADC

Diana graduated in 2013 from Capella University with a Master’s Degree in Mental Health Counseling and is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the state of Iowa. She is also certified as an Alcohol and Drug Counselor and previously worked as a full-time substance abuse counselor at ASAC in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Diana has spent most of the last 15 years in Christian ministry and holds ministerial credentials through the Assemblies of God. She has a passion for teaching and counseling and believes God has graciously anointed her to do both. She is excited about the opportunity to work with House of Hope in Cedar Rapids. Diana was part of the House of Hope team at its inception and is excited to join the team once again in a therapeutic capacity.

Diana has worked extensively with hurting women but feels comfortable working with both individuals and couples. Her greatest desire is to empower people so they might walk in the fullness of their God-given destinies.

Mindy brown, MA, tLMft

Mindy graduated from Mount Mercy University in 2021 with a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy.  Mindy has served in a variety of positions and has gained 10+ years of experience working with children, young adults, and families in the community and residential-based services. While completing her Master’s degree, Mindy worked as a student therapist at Olson Clinic, working with individuals, couples, and families. Mindy enjoys working with people of all ages and backgrounds and has a passion for helping children and young adults who have experienced sexual trauma, anxiety, depression, and body image issues. Mindy has a special interest in working with individuals impacted by human trafficking and sexual exploitation. Likewise, she has completed a learning collaborative in Trauma-focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy, which aims to address symptoms and behaviors associated with children and adolescents who have experienced significant trauma. It is Mindy’s desire to provide a therapeutic environment that allows individuals, couples, and families to feel safe to speak their truth and work towards healing and growth.  

In her free time, Mindy enjoys all things “creative and artsy,” outdoors activities including gardening, working out, and enjoying time with her husband and fur baby, Bo.
